Job summary

MyEyeDr. is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry by preparing patients for visits, performing preliminary testing and measurements, and delivering a welcoming, efficient patient experience. No optical experience is required as comprehensive training will be provided.

Weekend and evening shifts are required, with a focus on accuracy, patient comfort, and teamwork within a friendly, patient-centered practice.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with the ability to understand/do basic math.
• Personable, patient and able to comfort patients during screening process.
• Detail oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about industry, product, and services.
• Collaborative team player focused on the best patient experience.
• Prior healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but not required; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document medical history and prep for Optometrist exam.
• Maintain smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and staff during appointments.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures during their visit.
• Learn to use pretest equipment to perform visual screenings before the doctor visit.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to provide a seamless patient experience.
