Job summary

VisionWorks is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to ensure a great patient experience by preparing patients for onsite or remote exams and performing pre-exam tests. You will liaise between patients and Optometrists and assist with the initial steps of the patient journey.

Ideal candidates have optical/healthcare exposure, strong customer service, and the ability to work flexible schedules, including travel to other store locations. Training will be provided.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience in optical or healthcare settings.
• Optical or healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office professionalism required.
• Training provided for role responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Completing patient registration and submitting medical history into EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor with eye examinations and document results in EMR.
• Explain preliminary tests and support remote eye exams including video conferencing.
• Transition patients to retail staff with doctor recommendations.
• Manage exam books and schedule appointments, contacting no-shows.
• Maintain patient records according to Company standards.
• Instruct patients on contact lens handling and orders.
• Ensure clean clinical environment and properly stored supplies.
• Remain flexible to travel between store locations.
