Job summary

American Vision Partners (AVP) is seeking an Optician to put patient care first, helping customers select eyewear, assist with fittings, and educate on eyeglass and contact lens care. Your initiative and organization will keep operations running smoothly and ensure a positive patient experience.

You will interpret prescriptions, take precise measurements, order eyewear from laboratories, inspect lenses and frames, adjust and repair eyewear, and maintain equipment and supplies in a fast-paced,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• ABO and NCLE certification a plus; must obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Licensed Dispensing Optician (LDO) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interprets prescription and helps patients choose eyewear.
• Takes optical measurements for eyewear preparation.
• Orders eyewear from laboratory based on prescription and patient preference.
• Performs quality inspection of lenses and frames.
• Adjusts eyewear and instructs on cleaning and handling eyewear.
• Makes repairs using appropriate parts and tools.
• Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies.
