Job summary

American Vision Partners (AVP) is hiring an Optician to assist patients with selecting and ordering eyewear, provide fittings, and educate on proper eyeglass care. The role emphasizes patient-focused service, accurate measurements, and collaboration with physicians.

You will handle eyewear orders, perform quality checks, and maintain laboratory communications while ensuring high-volume efficiency and great patient experiences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• ABO/NCLE certification is a plus; LDO is a plus.
• Able to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills including Word and Excel.
• Flexible schedule; Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Interprets prescription and helps patients choose eyewear, consulting with prescribing physicians as appropriate.
• Takes optical measurements necessary for eyewear preparation.
• Orders eyewear from laboratory based on prescription and patient preference.
• Performs quality inspection of lenses and frames.
• Adjusts eyewear to patient using appropriate tools and instruct on cleaning and handling.
• Makes any necessary repairs using appropriate parts and tools.
• Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies.
