Job summary

American Vision Partners (AVP) seeks an Optician to assist patients with eyewear selection, take measurements, and order eyewear from the lab, ensuring proper care and an exceptional patient experience.

You will maintain a fast-paced workflow with strong attention to detail and customer service, Monday–Friday. ABO/NCLE or LDO status is a plus, with training available and comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Previous optical experience preferred; willing to train if eager to learn.
• ABO/NCLE is a plus, will be required within 6 months of hire.
• Licensed Dispensing Optician (LDO) is a plus.
• Detail oriented, reliable and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, including Word and Excel.
• Flexible schedule Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Interprets prescription and helps patients choose eyewear, consulting with prescribing physicians as appropriate.
• Takes optical measurements necessary for eyewear preparation.
• Orders eyewear from laboratory based on prescription and patient preference.
• Performs quality inspection of lenses and frames.
• Adjusts eyewear for patients and instruct on cleaning and handling.
• Makes repairs using appropriate parts and tools.
• Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies.

Overview

As an Optician, customer service is priority one! You’ll assist patients with selecting and ordering eyewear, adjustments and fittings, and educating on proper eyeglass and contact lens care.
