American Vision Partners (AVP) is seeking an Optician to assist patients with selecting eyewear, take measurements, and educate on eyewear care. Your initiative will drive a top-tier patient experience in a fast-paced environment.

You will interpret prescriptions, order eyewear from labs, inspect lenses/frames, adjust eyewear, and maintain equipment. A high school diploma is required; ABO/NCLE or LDO credentials are a plus and training is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• ABO/NCLE is a plus and will be required within 6 months of hire.
• Licensed Dispensing Optician (LDO) is a plus.
• Strong communication, both verbal and written.
• Excellent computer skills including Word and Excel.

Responsabilités

• Interprets prescription and helps patients choose eyewear, consulting with prescribing physicians as appropriate.
• Takes optical measurements necessary for eyewear preparation.
• Orders eyewear from laboratory based on prescription and patient preference.
• Performs quality inspection of lenses and frames.
• Adjusts eyewear for patient and teaches care and handling.
• Makes repairs using appropriate parts and tools.
• Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies.
