Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optician to deliver expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care in a dynamic optical practice. You will assist patients in selecting frames, coordinate with technicians and doctors, and ensure precise measurements and lens dispensing while maintaining high service standards.

You will educate patients on eyewear care, warranty terms, and insurance coverage, while keeping up-to-date with product knowledge and industry practices.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• ABO/NCLE certification preferred but not required.
• At least 1 year experience as an Optician preferred.
• HIPAA requirements experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office, Windows and word processing.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting eyewear and accessories that fit prescription, lifestyle, and style.
• Ensure proper frame fit, accurate measurements, and correct lens dispensing.
• Explain customized recommendations for products and services to patients.
• Manage patient orders, track status, and communicate delays to patients.
• Maintain knowledge of insurance plans, benefits, copays, and coverage limitations.
• Interact with technicians and doctors to ensure smooth handoffs and high-quality results.
• Inspect final products for fit and quality, and perform eyewear adjustments as needed.
• Keep work area clean and organize frame displays, boards, and tools.
