Job summary

Grand Rapids Ophthalmology in Holland, MI is seeking an Optician to dispense and fit glasses and contacts from patient prescriptions. You will support a world-class Total Patient Experience by connecting patient needs to the best eyewear solutions.

You will measure accurately, educate patients on lens options, coatings, and frames, and process orders in E360. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is preferred; ABO/ABOC certifications are desirable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year in a customer interactive position or equivalent.
• Current ABO/ABOC and NCLE certifications preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with patients while delivering medical support.
• Assist patients in selecting frames based on style and measurements.
• Operate lensometry equipment.
• Educate on lenses, coatings and frames.
• Take precise measurements including PD and pantoscopic tilt.
• Dispense glasses and contact lens orders in the system.
• Keep frame inventory organized and compliant with policies.
• Perform general office duties as assigned.
