Job summary

Grand Rapids Ophthalmology, part of EyeCare Partners, invites applications for an Optician in Grand Rapids, MI. You will dispense and fit glasses and contacts, reading prescriptions written by Optometrists and Ophthalmologists to support patients' medical and eyewear needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year in a customer interactive position or equivalent.
• Current ABO/ABOC and NCLE certifications (or obtained with first 2 years).
• HIPAA compliance as described in policies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Total Patient Experience and build relationships with patients.
• Determine patient needs and assist in selecting frames.
• Assist with frame selection by style, color, and measurements.
• Operate auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate on lenses, coatings, and frames to fit patient needs.
• Take precise measurements (PD, bridge, eye size, etc.).
• Dispense glasses and contact lens orders in E360.
• Maintain inventory and keep work area clean and presentable.
• Follow policies and assist with other duties as needed.
