Job summary

Grand Rapids Ophthalmology is seeking an Optician in Holland, MI. The role dispenses glasses and contacts, fits frames, and supports ophthalmology services by translating prescriptions into eyewear and patient care. You will work closely with optometrists and ophthalmologists to meet patient needs.

The position emphasizes Total Patient Experience, frame selection, measurements, and precise lens fittings, with opportunities for professional certifications and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year in a customer interactive position, or equivalent.
• Current ABO/ABOC and NCLE certifications preferred (or obtained within first 2 years).

Responsibilities

• Deliver Total Patient Experience while supporting medical needs.
• Assist patients in selecting frames by style/color and measurements.
• Operate auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate and recommend lenses, coatings and frames.
• Dispense glasses/contacts and manage eyewear orders in the system.
• Maintain organized, compliant workspaces and inventories.
• Perform general office duties as assigned.
