Job summary

AEG Vision seeks an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care. You will assist patients in frame and lens selection, ensure proper fit and dispensing, and enter prescriptions into the EHR.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• ABO/NCLE certification preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one year experience as an Optician preferred.
• HIPAA experience preferred.
• PC skills including MC Office, Windows, and word processing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient with customized recommendations.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and treatments based on lifestyle and prescription.
• Ensure proper frame fit, measurements, and lens dispensing with precision.
• Educate patients on insurance coverage, warranties, and pricing options.
• Enter prescription information into the EHR/ALE system and document charts.
• Follow up on pending orders and notify patients when eyewear is ready.
• Communicate with technicians and managers about order status.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the practice environment.
• Perform eyewear adjustments and simple repairs as needed.
• Stay current on products, procedures, rebates, and lens options.
