Job summary

Suburban Eye Care in Livonia, Michigan, is seeking an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care.

You will assist patients in selecting frames and lenses, ensure proper fit and accurate measurements, and dispense eyewear with attention to quality and customer service. A strong knowledge of insurance, HIPAA compliance, and use of EHR is expected along with teamwork within the practice.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Experience as an Optician preferred (1+ year).
• Proficient with eyewear fittings, lenses, coatings, and patient education.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting eyewear and accessories to fit prescription, lifestyle, and style.
• Ensure proper frame fit, accurate measurements, and correct lens dispensing.
• Enter prescription information into EHR/ALE system and communicate status to patients.
• Educate patients on care, warranty, and insurance coverage.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the practice area.
