Job summary

IDEX Materials Science Solutions, a Unit of IDEX Corporation, is seeking a Test Technician to perform final optical assembly optimization and testing in a controlled clean-room environment. You will interpret test results, support mechanical and optical adjustments, and collaborate with the assembly team to improve product performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred with an optical background.
• Associate degree in optics or equivalent technical discipline preferred.
• 3–5 years of related experience in optical testing or alignment.

Responsibilities

• Perform optical testing and measurements (transmission, wavefront, boresight).
• Optimize assembly via mechanical alignment and shim adjustments using test data.
• Interpret results and identify adjustable degrees of freedom to improve performance.
• Troubleshoot test equipment issues and alignment problems.
• Follow work instructions, drawings, and routers to complete tests on schedule.
• Diagnose assembly failures and suggest corrective actions.
• Maintain clean-room protocols and safety practices.
