Job summary

IDEX is seeking an Optics Technician to support manufacturing orders and collaborate with engineering to influence process development and continuous improvement. The role requires self-motivation and ability to work unsupervised at times.

Responsibilities include metrology, cleaning, assembly, coating operations, and ERP-driven workflows. Candidates with clean room experience and comfort with precision tasks are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience with optical components is a plus.
• Familiarity with clean room and ESD safety constraints is a plus.
• Familiarity with microscope inspection techniques is a plus.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks with high concentration.
• Proficient with basic computer use (Word, Excel) and email.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Perform high precision optics metrology with interferometry and part characterization.
• Handle, assemble, and inspect optical/components with care.
• Operate and maintain coating equipment and processes.
• Read and follow procedures; document manufacturing steps.
• Transact work orders through ERP; support process improvements.
