Job summary

Clarkson Eyecare in Breese, IL is seeking a Medical Assistant (Optical Technician) to dispense eyewear and support patients' medical needs. You will fit glasses, assist with lens choices, and work from ophthalmologists' prescriptions.

The role requires strong interpersonal skills, basic math, and familiarity with eyewear technologies. Benefits include health, 401k, PTO, and other competitive incentives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Medical office experience preferred; ophthalmic experience preferred.
• Must be able to read and interpret documents such as insurance forms.
• HIPAA compliance required by policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses based on prescriptions.
• Operate auto-lensometer and manual lensometer for eyewear.
• Dispense glasses/contacts and process orders in E360 system.
• Educate patients on lenses, coatings, and frame options.
• Maintain clean, organized, well-stocked work areas and inventory.
• Provide excellent patient service and support with colleagues.
