Job summary

EyeCare Partners in Homewood, AL seeks an Optical Technician to deliver a world-class Total Patient Experience, dispensing glasses and contacts from optometrist prescriptions, and aligning patient needs with our goods and services.

You will assist with frame selection, measurements, and lens options, ensuring accurate patient orders while providing excellent medical support and customer service.

Qualifications

• Previous medical office experience preferred; ophthalmic experience strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year in a customer/patient-facing role or equivalent.
• Favorable background check as required by state.
• Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Embrace and execute our Total Patient Experience to build relationships with all patients while delivering great medical support.
• Determine patient wants and needs and selling to exceed their expectations.
• Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and color, coordinating frames with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions.
• Operate the auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate and recommend lenses, coatings, and frames to suit patient needs.
• Collect measurements such as bridge, eye size, temple length, seg heights, and pupillary distance.
• Dispense patient orders and repair and adjust frames.
