The Eye Doctors in Topeka, KS is seeking an Optical Technician/Optician to dispense glasses and contacts, assist patients with frame choices, and support medical needs within a total patient experience. You will measure, verify prescriptions, and operate lensometry equipment to ensure precise optics and satisfaction.

This role requires strong communication, HIPAA compliance, and a background in customer service. Full-time hours with benefits are offered in a friendly ophthalmic setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret insurance forms.
• Customer/patient interaction experience is preferred.
• HIPAA compliance as described in policies.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Communication and interpersonal skills to engage patients.
• Proof of identity and right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Embrace Total Patient Experience to build relationships with patients.
• Determine patient needs and sell to exceed expectations.
• Assist selecting frames by style and measurements.
• Operate auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate and recommend lenses, coatings, and frames.
• Take measurements such as pupillary distance and other specs.
• Dispense glasses and contact lens orders; adjust frames.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and office cleanliness.
• Support additional office duties as needed.
