Job summary

The Eye Doctors in Lawrence, KS is seeking an Optical Technician to support patient care and drive sales by fitting glasses and contacts per prescriptions. You will assist with frame selection, measure accurately, and operate lensometry equipment.

Ideal candidates have strong customer service, HIPAA compliance, and office software skills, with prior ophthalmic exposure preferred. This is a full-time on-site role with full benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous medical office experience preferred.
• Minimum 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients.

Responsibilities

• Dispense and fit glasses and contacts per prescriptions.
• Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and measurements.
• Operate auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate and recommend lenses, coatings and frames.
• Accurately collect measurements (PD, bridge, eye size, seg heights, pantoscopic tilt).
• Maintain inventory and keep work areas organized.
