Clarkson Eyecare in Columbia, MO is seeking an Optical Technician (Optician) to dispense and fit glasses and contacts based on ophthalmic prescriptions, working closely with optometrists and ophthalmologists to meet patient needs. The role emphasizes delivering a world-class Total Patient Experience, assisting patients in frame selection, and maintaining accurate measurements and inventory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Previous medical office experience preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with patients while delivering medical support.
• Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and facial features and prescriptions.
• Operate the auto-lensometer and manual lensometer and dispense glasses and contacts.
• Educate patients on lenses, coatings and frames to suit needs.
• Maintain frame inventory and ensure accurate measurements and presentation.
