Henry Ford Health is seeking an Optical Service Representative to welcome patients, manage scheduling, and process orders in our Optometry department. You will work closely with clinicians, insurance teams, and pharmacies to ensure a seamless patient experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic math skills required.
• Previous retail, hospitality, or customer service experience required. Previous optical experience preferred.
• Ability to demonstrate effective organization skills and multitask daily activities.
• Must complete all training courses as directed by Henry Ford OptimEyes.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and direct them through their visit.
• Manage multi-line phone system and book appointments.
• Schedule appointments and maintain electronic medical records.
• Handle cash drawer and sales ledger with accuracy.
• Explain Ocular Corneal Tomography to patients.
• Process prescriptions for eyeglasses and contacts using POS.
• Coordinate with pharmacies for prescription fulfillment and shipping.
• Respond to patient inquiries with product knowledge and care.
• Apply medical triage guidelines for emergencies.
• Collaborate across departments to support patient services.
• Navigate insurance requirements and Medicare/Medicaid benefits.
