Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic math skills required.
• Previous retail, hospitality, or customer service experience required; optical experience preferred.
• Completion of all training courses as directed by Henry Ford OptimEyes.
• Must participate in ongoing training and in-services.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and direct them through their visit.
• Manage multi-line phone system and schedule appointments.
• Enter prescriptions and maintain electronic medical records.
• Handle cash drawer and sales ledger with accuracy.
• Educate patients on ocular tomography and related services.
• Process eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions in the POS system.
• Coordinate with pharmacies for prescription fulfillment and shipping.
• Address complex patient inquiries with professionalism.
• Follow medical triage guidelines and escalate emergencies as needed.
• Collaborate with departments to ensure comprehensive patient services.
