Job summary

Walmart Sam’s Club in Eagan, MN is seeking an Optical Associate, Non-Certified to join the team. The role involves stocking, assisting members with eyewear decisions, measuring Pupillary Distance, and processing eyewear orders.

You will handle payments at the POS and support OD services, with training to obtain ABO certification. Responsibilities include maintaining the Optical area, educating members, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent upon job entry or within 12 months of hire.
• Willingness and ability to obtain ABO certification within 15 months of hire.
• State-specific licensure requirements may apply for apprenticeship or licensure within set timelines.

Responsibilities

• Stock and organize the Optical area, maintain displays and pricing.
• Assist members with eyewear purchases, measurements, fittings, and repairs.
• Process eyewear and contact lens orders and returns using the POS system.
• Educate members on eyewear care and use, and support contact lens handling.
• Take measurements (including pupillary distance) and perform final eyewear inspections.
• Coordinate with labs/optometrists regarding orders and product updates.
• Assist with patient appointments and pre-testing where applicable.
• Ensure HIPAA-compliant records and claims processing for eye care services.
