Job summary

Shopko Optical in Bismarck, ND is seeking an Optical Sales Associate to provide friendly patient and customer service in selecting, ordering and dispensing eyewear. You will perform pre-screening activities, prepare work orders for the lab and assist with medical billing while maintaining inventory.

On-the-job training is provided and certification opportunities are available. The role emphasizes patient care, teamwork and a positive community presence.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Maintain license as required by state.
• To become Certified, teammate must complete Shopko OCE Certification requirements and calendar modules.
• Previous office/optical dispensing experience preferred.
• Able to handle multiple customer interactions/phone calls at a time.
• Able to assist with prescriptions, repairs and lifestyle dispensing.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer and patient service per standards.
• Analyze eyewear needs and recommend lenses, coatings, and frames.
• Assist patients in selecting frames to match style and measurements.
• Order and dispense eyewear accurately and professionally.
• Assist with frame repairs, adjustments, and contact lens care.
• Support Optometrist with case histories and screenings.
