Job summary

Shopko Optical in Baraboo, WI is seeking a team member to provide excellent patient and customer service in the selection, ordering and dispensing of eyewear. You will complete pre-screening activities prior to patient exams and prepare work orders for the Optical Lab.

On-the-job training is provided with no experience necessary, plus a comprehensive benefits package. You will support the Optometrist with case histories and screenings and help maintain inventory and billing information.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent is required.
• Maintain license as required by state.
• Certification via Shopko OCE program is required to become certified.
• Previous office or optical dispensing experience is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple customer interactions and phone calls.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer and patient service according to company and Optical Center standards.
• Analyze patient eyewear needs.
• Recommend specific lenses, lens coatings and frames to satisfy patient needs.
• Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and color; ensure frames coordinate with measurements and prescriptions.
• Order and dispense eyewear accurately and professionally.
• Assist patients with frame repairs and adjustments.
• Show patients how to insert, remove and care for their contact lenses.
• Assist Optometrist with case histories and screenings.
