Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent upon job entry or within 12 months of hire in order to sit for ABO exam.
• Must obtain ABO certification within 15 months of hire or job entry.
• Must obtain state-required optician licensure within 18 months of hire or entry.

Responsibilities

• Maintains merchandise presentation by stocking, setting up, cleaning, and organizing product displays, signing and pricing merchandise, and securing fragile and high-shrink items.
• Receives and stocks merchandise in the Optical area and operates POS systems for member purchases, payments, returns, and exchanges.
• Educates members on eyewear usage, supports contact lens insertion/removal and hygiene guidance, and assists with eyewear and lens orders.
• Performs frame adjustments, repairs, final eyewear inspection, and collaboration with labs/optometrists for status updates.
• Processes optical orders and monitors trial lens inventory, ensuring calibration and cleanliness of optical equipment.
• Maintains HIPAA-compliant records and processes insurance claims/payments for OD services where applicable.
