You will stock and maintain the Optical area, assist members with eyewear choices and measurements, and process orders and payments. ABO certification is required within 15 months of hire, with HIPAA-compliant handling of records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent upon job entry or within 12 months to sit for ABO exam.
• Must obtain ABO certification within 15 months of hire or job entry.
• State licensure apprenticeship requirements may apply to become an apprentice/licensed optician.
• Preferred: experience in health care or retail setting.

Responsibilities

• Stocking, signing and pricing merchandise and maintaining the Optical area.
• Assist members with eyewear purchases, measurements, fittings, repairs and orders.
• Process payments and manage insurance claims and prescriptions where applicable.
• Ensure calibration, cleanliness and proper operation of optical equipment and records in HIPAA-compliant manner.
