Job summary

The Eye Doctors in Salina, KS is seeking an Optical Technician (Optician) to dispense and fit glasses and contacts according to prescriptions from Optometrists and Ophthalmologists. You will support the Total Patient Experience and connect patients with goods and services.

Responsibilities include frame selection, measurements, lens options, and operation of lensometers, with emphasis on accuracy, service, and HIPAA compliance. Join a team focused on quality care and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in medical/ophthalmic office preferred.
• Minimum 1 year in a customer-facing role.
• ABO/ABOC and NCLE certifications preferred, but not required.
• HIPAA compliance and strong communication skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Total Patient Experience and build patient relationships.
• Assist patients in selecting frames matching style and measurements.
• Dispense glasses and contacts per prescriptions.
• Operate auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and clean, organized work area.
• Provide medical support and coordinate with eyewear services.
