Job summary

Sam's Club in Reynoldsburg, OH is seeking an Optical Associate to stock, price, and display eyewear products, assist members with purchases, and process payments through the POS system. You will educate members on eyewear usage and help with lens orders and fittings.

You will measure Pupillary distance, perform frame adjustments, coordinate with labs/optometrists, and maintain HIPAA-compliant records while ensuring accurate prescription details.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent at job entry or within 12 months.
• Must obtain ABO certification within 15 months of hire.
• Willingness and ability to work with Manager to register and maintain NPI number as required by state law.
• Must obtain state-required optician licensure within 18 months of hire or job entry.
• Must complete all applicable state licensure requirements and obtain licensure within 3 months of completing the minimum apprenticeship hours required by the state.

Responsibilities

• Stock and organize optical merchandise and maintain displays.
• Process member purchases and manage payments/refunds at POS.
• Measure pupillary distance and verify prescription details.
• Perform frame adjustments and repair eyewear.
• Coordinate with labs and optometrists on orders and status.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant records and follow company policies.
