We are seeking an Optical Sales Associate to join our growing team. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys helping patients find eyewear that fits their needs and style, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and values outstanding customer service.
As an Optical Sales Associate, you’ll play a key role in guiding patients through frame and lens selection, verifying insurance benefits, and ensuring every patient has a positive, personalized experience. This position requires strong sales and communication skills, attention to detail, and a caring, professional demeanor.
Greet and assist patients with frame and lens selection to match their prescription and personal style.
Educate patients on eyewear options, coatings, and lens technology.
Take accurate measurements and assist Opticians with fittings and adjustments.
Verify vision insurance eligibility and benefits for eyewear and contact lenses.
Process payments and maintain accurate sales and patient records.
Inspect and check in all optical orders for accuracy and quality.
Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting optical display area.
Collaborate with the Optical Manager and team to meet department goals.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong customer service, communication, and sales skills.
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy clinical setting.
Basic math proficiency for sales transactions.
Interest in current eyewear styles and fashion trends.
Adaptability and willingness to learn new technology and systems.
Preferred:
Prior retail or customer service experience (optical experience a plus).
Bilingual skills (Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Spanish, or Portuguese) are highly valued.
Full-Time: 40 hours per week, eligible for full benefits after 90 days.
Part-Time: Up to 29 hours per week
Typical Office Hours:
Monday & Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Tuesday–Thursday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Some Saturdays (Rotating): 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
