NY Creates and AIM Photonics seek a Process Development Engineer (Optical Packaging) to lead hands-on development of optical packaging processes, including fiber alignment, attachment, mechanical design and polishing. The role is based at NY Creates in Albany, NY, with the TAP facility in Rochester and collaboration across teams.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in fabrication, packaging, or semiconductor devices.
• Experience with active fiber alignment and fiber attachment.

Aufgaben

• Fiber and fiber array alignment process development for prototype batches using alignment equipment.
• Run DOE experiments to optimize machine parameters for advanced packages.
• Perform inspection, characterization, and metrology to ensure robust processes.
• Coordinate with marketing, vendors, purchasing and customers on technical information.
• Gather and analyze data; conduct root cause and failure mode analysis to improve yields.
• Other duties as assigned.
