Job summary

Meta is seeking an Optical Network Deployment & Support Engineer to plan and execute network deployments for a leading optical backbone. You will own deployment planning, implementation, and scaling of Meta's AI network infrastructure.

Responsibilities include leading deployment, architecture, and hands-on contributions across large programs, while contributing to roadmaps and ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance. Expect 10–30% travel and opportunities to mentor teammates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of Network Engineering including planning, building, deployment or migration of production networks.
• 3+ years experience in Optical Network Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise and carrier-class routing, switching, and optical transport platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead deployment, architecture, and execution for EN(S) projects.
• Provide hands-on contributions on design, deployment, migration, reviews, and troubleshooting.
• Contribute to six-month to multi-year roadmaps to support growth and transformation.
• Apply engineering standards for reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Collaborate across Network Engineering, Data Center, Network Investments, and Planning teams.
• Deploy, migrate and support global production networks including edge, backbone, and data center infrastructure.
• Mentor and onboard new team members.
• Travel 10% to 30%.
