Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking an Optical Manager to lead the Optical department, coach staff, and ensure excellent member service. You will coordinate orders with the lab, confirm appointments, and maintain department standards.

The role requires supervising the optical team, training, and maintaining compliance with privacy regulations. Strong leadership and customer service skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of optical products and business practices preferred.
• Must have a minimum of two years’ experience in a retail Optical setting.
• High school diploma, college degree, and/or big box wholesale, retail, optical, and/or management experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including managing/supervising cross-functional teams, training team members, and driving and communicating results.
• Strong interpersonal skills, customer service skills, organizational skills and an attention to detail required.
• Open shift availability required.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provides a high level of Member service, including answering all incoming calls and scheduling patients for eye exams.
• Provides support to Members in adjustments, measurements, and order processing.
• Manages Optical department team members and ensures privacy and HIPAA compliance.
• Manages opening and closing procedures and cash handling.
• Educates patients on benefits of available products and drives sales goals.
• Maintains a clean, organized Optical department and handles inventory and repairs as needed.
