Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking an Optical Manager (Optician) to lead the optical department, supervise team members, and ensure high standards of service for Members. Responsibilities include scheduling eye exams, guiding orders, and maintaining department operations with HIPAA compliance.

The role emphasizes coaching staff, delivering exceptional member experiences, and partnering with the lab to ensure timely processing. Strong leadership and eye care product knowledge are required for success.

Qualifications

• Licensed optician in the state and up to date license
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Experience leading or coaching teams
• Willingness to work open shifts or varying schedules
• Age 18 or older

Responsibilities

• Provide top member service in optical, including scheduling and measurements
• Coach and manage optical team to maintain daily standards
• Ensure HIPAA privacy and confidentiality of patient information
• Oversee opening/closing procedures and cash handling
• Educate patients on products and guide purchasing decisions
