Job summary

Rochester Precision Optics, LLC is seeking an Injection Molding Process Technician for the 2nd shift in West Henrietta, NY. The role focuses on setting up, troubleshooting, and optimizing injection molding to produce precision optical components, with training on first shift before transition.

You will collaborate with production, quality, engineering, and maintenance teams, document parameters, and drive yield improvements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical training or associate degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Injection Molding Process Technician or similar role.
• Experience with mold changeovers, machine setup, and production start‑ups.
• Strong understanding of injection molding parameters and their impact on quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform mold installations, changeovers, and machine setup for production runs.
• Set and document process parameters to meet quality and production targets.
• Start up and validate production jobs after mold changes or maintenance.
• Troubleshoot molding defects, process variation, and tooling issues.
• Monitor process stability and adjust to improve yield and throughput.
• Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble molds per standards.
• Document parameters and inspection results accurately.
• Support continuous improvement and safety/5S practices.
