Job summary

Gooch & Housego PLC seeks a Molding Machine Operator for 2nd shift at its Rochester, NY site. The role involves producing high-quality injection molded optical components, inspecting parts, and maintaining production records.

You will operate molding machines, follow process instructions, and collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve issues while ensuring safety and cleanliness. This position focuses on precision and continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality standards preferred.
• Basic computer skills and ERP data entry.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and degate injection molded polymer optical lenses of various sizes and geometries.
• Package finished parts in accordance with customer and production quality requirements.
• Record production data including cycle times and scrap rates within the ERP system.
• Operate one or more injection molding machines and perform basic secondary operations such as milling.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and contamination-free work environment.
• Read, understand, and follow work instructions, process control plans, and safety procedures.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and process technicians to resolve manufacturing issues.
• Communicate production, equipment, or quality concerns promptly to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with inventory counts and material preparation for incoming shifts.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist in updating work instructions as needed.
