Rochester Precision Optics is seeking an Optical Assembler to join our production team in West Henrietta, NY. You will assemble, align, and inspect high-precision optical components and subassemblies in a controlled manufacturing setting.

The role requires steady hands, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to follow technical work instructions. Experience in optical handling, cleanroom practices, and ERP use is a plus; a strong focus on quality and reliability is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Hands-on assembly and precision work in manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specs.
• Experience with optics assembly a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assemble precision optical components and mechanical subassemblies using tools and fixtures.
• Perform fine alignment of optical elements using microscopes and laser systems.
• Apply adhesives with controlled volume and curing requirements.
• Install fasteners to exact specifications to maintain alignment.
• Inspect incoming and in-process components for defects and contamination.
• Verify optical performance with test equipment.
• Document inspection results and maintain traceability.
• Identify nonconformances and coordinate with quality and engineering to resolve issues.
