Job summary

CACI International Inc. is seeking an Optical Engineer to support NSWC Crane, Indiana. The role focuses on evaluating prototype EO/IR hardware including CDC, MWIR, LRF, SWIR, LWIR and other sensor technologies.

You will perform benchtop tests, data collection and analysis, generate test reports, and assist environmental qualification testing at both system and component levels, coordinating with technical teams and leadership.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in optics, physics, electrical engineering, or related field.
• Experience with Electro-Optic (EO), Infrared (IR), and Laser technology programs.
• Experience with business planning and project development.
• Knowledge of government operating procedures and requirements.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide optical engineering support evaluating prototype EO/IR hardware.
• Generate test reports from benchtop testing and data analysis.
• Support environmental qualification testing for EO/IR hardware.
• Document test plan requirements and test configurations.
• Communicate with senior leadership and field/installation teams.
