Job summary

CACI International Inc. in Danbury, CT is seeking an Optical Engineer to join a team solving challenging optical engineering problems from design through testing.

You will work on interdisciplinary groups focusing on complex optical system design, manufacture, testing, and alignment. You will perform optical analyses with Zemax/Code V/FRED, collaborate with systems, mechanical, and thermal disciplines, and present results to internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, optics preferred
• 5+ years of demonstrated knowledge of basic optical concepts (imaging, WFE, first order optics)
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
• Ability to work onsite in Danbury as part of a team
• History of leadership in a small technical team to solve problems

Responsibilities

• Perform optical analyses of optics or optical systems using commercial and in-house software
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (systems, mechanical, thermal, etc.)
• Present analyses to internal and external customers
• Document and review procedures used to manufacture and test optics and optical systems
• Model optical system performance using Zemax, Code V, FRED or equivalent
• Oversee testing of optics or optical systems with other organizations
