Qualifications

• Training and/or certification in optical dispensing and/or fitting contact lens.
• Excellent attention to detail, particularly for interpreting prescriptions and checking lenses.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical information clearly to customers.

Responsibilities

• Interpret prescriptions from eye care professionals to determine lens and frame requirements.
• Advise patients on frame weights, materials, styles and colors.
• Recommend lenses, coatings and frames to suit customers’ needs.
• Measure customers to determine suitable types and styles of frames.
• Adjust frames so they fit properly.
• Prepare orders for glasses and contact lenses by checking prescriptions and lens specifications.
• Maintain inventory of frames and optical supplies.
• Ensure HIPAA-compliant handling of sales records.
• Collaborate with doctors and practice staff to optimize patient experience.
• Share knowledge with colleagues to improve team performance.
