Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient PC skills including Microsoft Office and Windows.
• Exhibits collaborative teamwork and professional communication with staff and patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations before the Optometrist exam (dilation, topicals, diagnostic meds, Optomap, auto refractor, acuity).
• Conduct patient interviews to capture medical issues and visit purpose for the Optometrist.
• Schedule referrals to Ophthalmologists and other specialists; complete related paperwork.
• Maintain patient records compliant with HIPAA and company policies.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatment, and assist with documentation in EHR.
• Assist with diagnostic testing using equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Handle contact lens classes and inventory, order placement, and end-of-day duties.
