Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent upon job entry or within 12 months of hire to sit for ABO exam.
• Must obtain ABO certification within 15 months of hire or job entry.
• Licensed/Registered States Only: meet state licensure requirements to become apprentice/ licensed optician; licensure within 18 months; completion of apprenticeship hours.

Responsibilities

• Stocking and merchandising in the Optical area; handling claims, returns, and pricing.
• Assist members with eyewear purchases, measurements, and frame adjustments.
• Process eyewear and contact lens orders; verify prescription information and perform final eyewear inspections.
• Operate POS and handle payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges.
• Support OD services and perform pre-testing and patient appointments as applicable.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant records and assist with insurance claims related to eye care materials.
