Job summary

Walmart Sam’s Club in Brownsville, TX is seeking an Optical Associate, Non-Certified to assist members with eyewear purchases, measurements, adjustments, and repairs. You will maintain the Optical area and inventory, ensuring compliance with policies and proper documentation.

Responsibilities include operating the POS, handling payments and refunds, processing insurance claims where applicable, and supporting ABO certification progress while delivering friendly service to members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent at hire or within 12 months to sit for ABO exam.
• Must obtain ABO certification within 15 months of hire or job entry.
• State-board apprenticeship or licensure requirements must be met within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist members with eyewear selection, measurements, repairs, and orders.
• Operate POS system, process payments, returns, and insurance claims.
• Maintain Optical area, stock displays, and ensure cleanliness and organization.
• Support OD services and assist with pre-testing under supervision.

Education
