Job summary

Walmart is seeking an Optical Associate to maintain the Optical area, stock merchandise, process member purchases, and assist with eyewear orders.

You will measure pupillary distance, verify prescriptions, perform frame adjustments, and support OD services while ensuring HIPAA compliance and accurate insurance processing. The role emphasizes customer care, accuracy, and teamwork within a retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required at entry or within 12 months of hire.
• ABO certification must be obtained within 15 months of hire.
• State licensure/apprentice requirements must be pursued as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Stock and organize optical merchandise and process sales on the POS.
• Educate members on eyewear usage and assist with frames and lenses.
• Take pupillary distance measurements and verify prescriptions; perform adjustments.
