Job summary

Walmart in Harvey, LA is seeking an Optical Associate to maintain merchandise presentation, stock and price eyewear, and process sales on the POS. You will assist members with eye care products, measure pupillary distance, adjust frames, and ensure accurate prescription information is recorded.

As part of the team, you’ll learn ABO certification requirements, support lab communications, and help with insurance claims and orders while delivering friendly customer service in a busy retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent upon job entry or within 12 months of hire in order to sit for American Board of Opticianry (ABO) exam.
• Must obtain American Board of Opticianry (ABO) certification within 15 months of hire or job entry.
• Licensed/Registered States Only: Meets or can satisfy state law requirements to become an apprentice optician and licensed optician; licensure within 18 months and complete minimum apprenticeship hours as required by state.

Responsibilities

• Stocking and organizing merchandise in the Optical area following company procedures.
• Assist members with eyewear selection, measurements, adjustments, and repairs; process orders and verify prescription information.
• Participate in lab communications, ensure calibration and cleanliness of optical equipment, and manage payments and insurance processes.
