Job summary

Walmart is seeking an Optical Associate in Winston-Salem, NC to maintain the optical department, stock merchandise, and process eye-care orders. You will handle claims, RETURNS, and POS transactions while ensuring accurate pricing and inventory control.

Responsibilities include assisting customers with eyewear purchases, taking measurements, and performing frame adjustments. ABO certification must be obtained within 15 months of hire, with opportunities for growth and training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ABO certification within 15 months of hire or entry.
• Willingness to work and obtain state licensure as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Maintains merchandise presentation by stocking display items, signing and pricing, and handling damaged goods.
• Maintains the Optical sales floor by processing claims, returns, and organizing merchandise.
• Receives, stocks, audits, and maintains hearing aid inventory; processes sales and refunds.
• Operates cash registers and POS system to handle member purchases, payments, refunds, and exchanges.
• Educates members on eyewear usage and care; supports contact lens insertions and hygiene guidance.
• Sells Optical products, takes measurements, and completes eyewear/ contact lens orders.
• Accurately measures pupillary distance and positions for various lens types.
• Performs frame adjustments and final eyewear inspection prior to dispensing.
• Coordinates with labs and optometrists on status, updates, and reorders of lenses.
• Registers with state boards where required and maintains licensure per state law.
