Neurophos, Inc. in Austin, TX, seeks a Systems Engineer to own the OVMM engine architecture and translate product-level requirements into actionable specifications. You will drive cross-domain interfaces across optics, analog, digital, and software, push for modularity, and shape the roadmap for future generations.

This on-site, senior role combines architecture, requirements, and leadership to deliver a first-of-a-kind computing platform.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in systems engineering or architecture for complex hardware.
• Ability to build leveled requirements sets, interface control documents, and verification matrices.
• Proven ability to quantify architectural trade-offs and defend decisions across disciplines.
• Working fluency with Python or MATLAB modeling for signal-path or link-budget analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the OVMM signal-path architecture across evolving subsystem designs.
• Translate product requirements into subsystem specifications with clear ownership.
• Define and manage interface specifications between optics, analog, digital, and software.
• Drive separation of concerns and modular architecture for independent domain development.
• Lead architecture trade studies to quantify performance, power, and complexity.
• Support roadmap and future-architecture contributions beyond current product.
• Mentor engineers in specification discipline and architecture trade-study methods.
