Job summary

Neurophos is seeking a senior Systems Engineer to own the quantitative performance model of our OVMM engine in Austin, TX. Lead end-to-end simulations, analyze optical and electrical paths, and allocate budgets across optics, analog, and digital domains.

You will drive model-to-measurement correlation, guide architecture trades, and collaborate with photonics, analog, and software teams to meet aggressive targets for accuracy, throughput, and power.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field with emphasis on communication theory.
• 5+ years in communication systems architecture, link-budget modeling, or performance modeling.
• Strong knowledge of modulation, equalization, synchronization, and coding-gain concepts.

Responsibilities

• Link & Power Budget Ownership: maintain end-to-end optical/electrical budget for OVMM path.
• Signal-Path Modeling: build reference behavioral model of TX-channel-RX path.
• Accuracy & Performance Allocation: set NMSE/SNR/SNDR targets across domains.
• Impairment Analysis: model noise, distortion, jitter, quantization, crosstalk, nonlinearity.
• Throughput & Efficiency Trade Studies: analyze TOPS, TOPS/W, latency vs architecture.
• Monte Carlo & Time-Domain Simulation: run simulations for margin and robustness.
• Model-to-Measurement Correlation: align simulations with lab/silicon data.
