Job summary

Neurophos is seeking a Systems Engineer to own and evolve the quantitative performance model for the OVMM engine, driving end-to-end link budgets and trade studies. You will run large-scale simulations and translate results into actionable design constraints, working with photonics, analog, digital, and software teams.

You will lead the development of a reference TX–channel–RX model, allocate performance targets, and quantify the impact of impairments on throughput, latency, and margin.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• 5+ years in communication systems architecture or performance modeling of optical/high-speed systems.
• Deep knowledge of modulation, equalization, synchronization, estimation, and coding-gain concepts.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and/or MATLAB/Simulink for modeling and simulations.
• End-to-end optical/RF link budget ownership and allocations.
• Strong written and verbal communication for cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end optical and electrical link budget for the OVMM signal path.
• Build and maintain the reference behavioral model for TX–channel–RX path.
• Allocate NMSE/SNR/SNDR targets across domains and update with design changes.
• Model optical, analog, quantization, and algorithmic imperfections and quantify impact on accuracy.
• Run Monte Carlo and time-domain simulations to assess design margin and robustness.
• Correlate model predictions with lab measurements and refine allocations accordingly.
• Mentor engineers in system modeling and quantitative trade studies.
