Job summary

SwitchThink Solutions in Phoenix is seeking an OPS Systems Engineer I to support Linux, AIX, and DB2 environments, with a focus on the Keystone application. You will leverage foundational system administration knowledge and a collaborative mindset to maintain performance and reliability.

You will work with senior engineers on routine tasks, troubleshoot issues, participate in upgrades, automation, and disaster recovery planning to ensure operational integrity for our client base.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years related work experience.
• 1+ years administering Linux/AIX environments.
• 1+ years with DB2 upgrades, troubleshooting, and backups preferred.
• Proficiency in Linux (RHEL) and AIX admin tasks preferred.
• Experience with cloud infra and virtualization preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• System Monitoring & Maintenance of Linux, AIX, and DB2 environments.
• Assist with health checks, routine maintenance, and performance monitoring.
• Support incident response and basic troubleshooting under supervision.
• Participate in OS and software patching/upgrades planning and execution.
• Coordinate with senior engineers to apply security updates.
• Document upgrade steps and post-upgrade verifications.
• Contribute to disaster recovery tests and business continuity efforts.
• Develop automation scripts to improve daily processing tasks.
• Document system configurations, troubleshooting steps, and SOPs.
• Collaborate with core operations and infrastructure teams to ensure reliability.
