We are seeking an experienced AIX Systems Administrator to manage and optimize Unix operating systems and related infrastructure.
This role involves system configuration, automation, performance tuning, and troubleshooting within a dynamic environment, ensuring high availability and security across enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular system administration activities for AIX environments.
- Configure operating systems and clustering components.
- Automate software lifecycle management for OS components, support software, and configuration management.
- Identify and reduce operational toil through automation and process improvements.
- Apply analytics on historical data to predict and prevent issues proactively.
- Manage AIX LVM, LPAR profile creation, PowerVM administration, and OS installation via NIM.
- Administer HMC, SSH/SFTP, NIM automation, and Power Systems firmware upgrades.
- Configure and maintain network components (Ethernet, VLANs, TCP/IP, vSwitches, SEAs), NFS, SUDO, and LDAP client administration.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and work independently to resolve issues.
- Support Agile practices, including Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
- Monitor system performance, conduct tuning, and troubleshoot issues.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional experience in Unix operating system technologies.
- Expert knowledge of AIX administration, including LVM, LPAR, PowerVM, and NIM.
- Strong experience with automation and orchestration tools (Ansible, Python, UNIX scripting).
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Solid understanding of networking and storage technologies.
- Experience with performance monitoring and tuning in AIX environments.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Aria automation tools.
- Knowledge of clustering and high-availability configurations.
